About Us

Hi, I’m Michelle, a homeschooling mum, children’s author and founder of the Love Books Community.

The Love Books Community began in 2025 when I organised a small group, of local authors, to share in the cost of renting a shop space at Vend Marketplace on Brisbane’s Northside, to sell our books.  Little did we know that we were the beginning of something so much bigger!

We have established ourselves as a supportive community helping Australian authors sell their books and become known by a wider audience.  We have also become a great place for authors to connect with other authors, build their confidence and engage in opportunities they may not get on their own. 

We attend markets, festivals and book expositions and conduct our own bookfairs around Brisbane. We publish a beautiful, book catalogue four times a year, provide fundraising opportunities for schools and community groups, organise story time events and book donations for Australian charities.

As much as we love traditionally published children’s books, our focus is to help the authors who have independently published their own children’s book and are not represented by a publishing company.

The Love Books Community supports the distribution of family friendly children’s books that have been created by the hands and minds of people and not AI.
